Minimum Technical Competencies (MTCs)

Minimum Technical Competencies (MTCs) were introduced to the Fenestration industry in September 2012 by the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG). MTCs are now a mandatory requirement for all triple and double glazing installers and surveyors working in the glass and glazing sector in England and Wales.

This means that installers and surveyors registered with FENSA must demonstrate certain experience, knowledge and competence within their field.

All installers and surveyors are required to sit an examination in order to received a FENSA MTC Card which will allow installers to work in the domestic glazing market.
