How do you know it’s time to change your double glazing?

Unfortunately, double glazing does not last forever, but good quality glazing should last up to 20 years.

Over time you may notice changes in your windows as they begin to deteriorate and it’s important to know what to look out for and the signs for when it’s time to replace your double glazing.

Each double glazing unit incorporates a drying agent which absorbs any moisture to prevent condensation from forming. When this becomes saturated, and can no longer draw in the damp, the window will begin to mist up as condensation creeps in between the panes.

If left, the layer of misting will worsen, obscuring the window. Misting is an indication that the seal is failing and the windows are not longer working effectively. The energy efficiency and sound reduction will also be significantly lessened. This is the time when you should look to change your windows.

At Britelite we can make that process as easy as possible with our huge range of double and triple glazing in all different shapes, sizes and styles. Get in contact and we can send one of our specialist window experts who can help to find the best windows to suit you.
