It can take as little as 20 seconds to jemmy open a typical window lock, and ordinary friction hinges can be easily levered open. Frightening, isn’t it?
That’s why all our windows come with insurance-approved security locks as standard.
At the turn of a handle, a centre deadlock secures the window, as well as shoot bolts that locate into Cylon Composite keeps, secured to the window frame. The bolts themselves are made from high strength brass alloy, making the window virtually impossible to force open!
The window handles lock automatically when shut, but open at the press of a button for extra safety in case of fire. With internal glazing beads, the glass cannot be removed from the outside.
Our High Security friction hinges are made of high grade stainless steel and lock deep into end caps made from ICI Verton. This makes the hinge 4 times more resistant to attack than conventional hinges!
In addition to this all of our casement windows are fitted with a SAC bolt which provides security on the hinge side of the windows - an area that is overlooked, except by thieves.
Our insurance-approved door locks feature twin tapered hooks, rollers and robust central dead bolts. The rollers smoothly guide the hook into position enabling the inward facing hooks with 28mm projection to secure the door into the frame.
