As a result, uPVC now commands more than a 50% share of the window market. What's more, the material is incredibly recyclable, which means that even at the end of their life, old double glazing products can still contribute to the well-being of the planet.
In addition, Britelite Windows operate a window scrappage scheme that pays you up to £75 for each window that you recycle, meaning you could save money on your next installation, while making a positive impact on the environment. We are one of few companies who offer the window scrappage scheme after a nationwide proposal by the government was recently thrown out.
State-of-the-art technology
VEKA's main recycling centre in Germany has been certified by the TÜV Technical Inspection Agency, which means there is a 100% certainty that any disposal is line with environmental considerations.
The fully automated processes at VEKA's recycling facility transform existing windows into 100% pure uPVC by a state-of-the-art shredding, extraction and separation process. The final product is then ready to be re-used in the production of further uPVC products.
